Short & Sweet Saturday…
What Ever Happened to Common Sense?
Is it just me, or has the world felt like it is turned upside down for most of the past 20+ years?
And I am not talking about right versus left; I’m talking about right versus wrong.
As a baby boomer, I feel that we may be the last generation to respect the Word of God over the political correctness being spewed upon us for some time now.
The scarier thing is that the new generations are ok with erasing history; which for me leaves me feeling that our grandchildren and great grandchildren may never know what living a life that was based on the Bible, showing others respect and love was ever even a possibility.
Instead, these kids are being taught that their ancestors (all previous generations) were and are evil and intolerant to the ‘new order’.
Yet, to my mind, there has never been so much division, anger and hate amongst Americans as there is today. Could it be the removal of God from our society?
Is it common sense for mankind to believe in the ‘big bang theory’? I think not. Until mankind can explain where that very first particle of matter came from, then we are just not all that.
Common sense was a learned and then shared experience (that’s what made it ‘common’).
We may never see its return because the new order calls for each of us to do what pleases us.
The loss of common sense has led to the breakdown of our society – as we no longer recognize our commonality nor have any sense of community.
Lord, I pray that there be a great awakening in our country returning You to your rightful place in our world. I pray that recent social changes be reversed so that all of our heirs will have a chance at seeing a world filled with common sense, respect and love. In the mighty name of Jesus, I pray. Amen

Some Common Sense to Think About…
God is Life Himself
Life at times appears to fall to pieces. It seems irreparable. But it’s going to be okay!
How can we know? Because as John 3:16 says, “God so loved the world!”
Those are God’s arms we feel. Trust him. Believe him.
Allow the only decision maker in the universe to comfort you.
Since he has no needs, we cannot tire him.
Since he is without age, we cannot lose him.
Since he has no sin, we cannot corrupt him.
Paul said in Romans 8:31, “If God is for us, who can be against us.”
If God can make a billion galaxies, can’t he make good out of our bad and sense out of our faltering lives? Of course, he can. He is not just alive, but He is life himself.
John 5:26 confirms for us, “The Father has life in himself.” He is God! And God loves you.
