Free – to blossom and grow in love
I’ve never been a fan of gardening, but I have always appreciated the beauty of them.
Sometimes, weeds hide in our hearts. You know…these perhaps subtle things that lie low in the shadows but have the potential to ruin the whole garden.
We may find ourselves harboring anger, unforgiveness, or bitterness towards someone; even regrets may have us not forgiving ourselves.
Little by little, these feelings contaminate our internal beings and eventually prevent our gardens (who we are) from blossoming and shining for the Lord.
As Christians, we need to identify these weeds and root them out of our heart. This process can be painful, to be sure, but at the same time, what good it does.
We need to remove the roots of anger, unforgiveness, or bitterness, one after the other, and free ourselves from these weights that are poisoning us. We must release forgiveness toward ourselves and toward others.
We should be living in full freedom…Jesus purchased this liberty for us at the cost of His life!
36 So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed. John 8:36
